Dear Community Organizations, 

We are very excited to be celebrating the 43rd annual Powell Street Festival on Saturday, August 3rd and Sunday, August 4th, 2019! 

We would like to invite your organization to apply to be in this year’s Community Tent. Your application is due March 10 othe following business day. If you applied last year, please log in to your account and your content will appear in each field. However, it is important that you review and update each answer because the questions may have changed. We will make every effort to accommodate your request. 

Please note the following:  

  1. Each booth MUST remain open from 11:30 am (at the latest) until 7:00 pm on Saturday, August 3rd and from 11:30 am until 6:30 pm on Sunday, August 4th. Times will be confirmed in the participant information package which will be sent out closer to the festival.  
  2. The Festival will provide one table and two chairs to each vendor. You may rent chairs and tables for an additional fee. 
  3. Organizations are encouraged to bring display panels to maximize their space. 
  4. Please note that space is limited and that you may be asked to share space, or a table with another group. If you wish to secure a space larger than 10′ x 10′, please contact myself (Emiko) at the PSFS office. 
  5. The Festival cannot guarantee you a specific booth location. 
  6. Please indicate if you will participate for two full days, half days, or one day only. Organizations must attend for the full time that they are scheduled, or they may jeopardize future participation at the Powell Street Festival. 
  7. All accepted organizations are also required to give withdrawal notification by Friday, July 19th, 2019 should they require to withdraw from the Festival. 
  8. Organizations are welcome to sell products in your allotted space, but keep in mind that all sales (including memberships and subscriptions) will be subject to a 15% commission payable to PSFS by the deadline of August 10. Donations may not be collected for organizations other than PSFS. Please note: If you are selling crafts in your community booth, permission will be subject to Craft Booth guidelines (i.e. no duplicate items). 

To help with the costs of presenting the Community Tent, organizations will either: 

  1. Donate $100.00 to contribute to the rental of the tent; 
  2. Sell lottery tickets (your organization will receive 20% commission of your total lottery ticket sales remitted to PSFS); or 
  3. Provide a volunteer for the Festival during set-up day on Friday, August 2nd, 2019
